Luke Lythall- Founder, Director & Head Coach
Luke started coaching gymnastic at the age of 24 whilst he was teaching Physical Education in Primary Schools in the UK.
In 2016, Luke made the jump into full-time coaching when was employed as the Head Tumbling Coach at Leeds Rebound Gymnastics Academy. In 2018, Luke became Head Tumbling Coach at Highflyers Trampoline & Gymnastics Academy in Perth, Western Australia. During Luke’s time at Highflyers he assisted Tumbling Athletes to reach the Junior National Squad and qualify for the World Age Championships in Tokyo, Japan. During his time as Head Coach, Luke also produced 3 National Tumbling Champions in both the International and National Streams of the sport.
Luke holds an Advanced Silver Tumbling Accreditation, Advanced Trampoline Accreditation and Advanced Gymnastics for all Accreditation.
Sophie - Advanced WAG & MAG Gymnastics Coach
Sophie is an Advanced Women’s and Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Coach at Melbourne Tumbling Academy, delivering coaching across our School Gymnastics Programs, classes, and skill workshops.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Circus Arts and a strong background in both gymnastics and circus performance, Sophie brings a unique blend of technical knowledge, creativity, and movement awareness to her coaching. She began gymnastics at the age of 11 in Armidale, NSW, and quickly developed a passion for the sport, transitioning into coaching recreational gymnastics just one year later.
Sophie has continued to train and perform at a high level across gymnastics and circus, and enjoys sharing her experience with athletes of all ages and abilities. Her sessions are engaging, purposeful, and focused on building strong foundations, confidence, and enjoyment in both gymnastics and tumbling.
Kiara - Advanced & FIG 1 WAG Gymnastics Coach
Kiara is an Advanced FIG Level 1 Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Coach and a valued member of the Melbourne Tumbling Academy coaching team. She delivers our School Gymnastics Programs and leads our WAG Gymnastics Skill Workshops, working with athletes across a wide range of ages and ability levels.
With a strong technical knowledge of gymnastics and a genuine passion for coaching, Kiara is committed to delivering high quality, engaging, and well structured sessions. She focuses on developing strong foundations, correct technique, and confidence in every athlete she works with.
Kiara is known for her positive and encouraging coaching style, creating a supportive environment where athletes feel motivated to challenge themselves, build skills safely, and develop a love for gymnastics.
Sarah - Advanced Gymnastics Coach
Sarah is an Advanced Gymnastics Coach at Melbourne Tumbling Academy, specialising in our School Gymnastics Programs. She brings extensive experience coaching students of all ages and abilities, creating engaging and structured sessions that are both fun and educational.
Sarah is passionate about helping children develop confidence, coordination, and physical literacy through gymnastics. She focuses on building strong foundations in skills such as rolling, jumping, balancing, and basic tumbling, ensuring every student feels supported and encouraged to challenge themselves safely.
Known for her positive and patient coaching style, Sarah excels at managing large school groups while keeping all participants active and motivated. She is fully accredited, compliant, and committed to delivering high-quality lessons that promote skill development, wellbeing, and a love for gymnastics.
Ruby - Beginner Gymnastics Coach
Ruby is an Assistant Coach at Melbourne Tumbling Academy, supporting our Tumbling and Gymnastics Skill Workshops under the guidance of our lead coaches. As a developing coach, Ruby plays an important role in helping athletes feel supported, confident, and encouraged as they learn and refine their skills.
Ruby is currently an Advanced and Competitive Tumbler with Melbourne Tumbling Academy and is also actively involved in circus performance, bringing a strong personal skill set and creative movement background into her coaching. She has recently begun her coaching journey and is working through her formal coaching accreditations.
Known for her kind and caring nature, Ruby is especially great at supporting athletes who may feel nervous or unsure, helping them build confidence, take safe risks, and enjoy the learning process in a positive environment.
